The most famous luxury construction in the French Riviera, residentially oriented, is the Palais Maeterlinck<\/i><\/b>. Situated at the tip of cape of Nice, this building went through many vicissitudes<\/b>,\"Maeterlinkstarting with the first project of three architects for an English man, but stopping right at its beginning, in 1913. In 1920, the count de Mill\u00e9ant\u2019s project had to halt to: he wanted to build a rival casino of those of Monte-Carlo<\/b> but, but since 1928, Nice launched its Palais de la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e<\/i>. After this second miss, Belgium writer Maurice Maeterlinck bought and ended the construction work of the villa. He \"Maeterlinknamed it Orlamonde<\/b> and, with the help of his ni\u00e7oise wife Ren\u00e9e Dahon, organized there the sumptuous parties<\/b> that gave the domain its international renown.<\/p>\n

The tumultuous story doesn\u2019t stop here, unfortunately, for the residence already well-known as the Palais Maeterlinck<\/i>. Indeed, the domain is ravaged during World War II<\/b>, plundered and squatted as the owners are in the USA. They came back and lived in this place until each death, in 1949 for Maurice Maeterlinck, in 1969 for Ren\u00e9e Dahon. Till 1983, the house is abandoned then rehabilitated in several apartments<\/b>, under the will of the heir.<\/p>\n

Between 1987 and 1990, the palace changed again of owner. Henri-Ferdinand Lavanchy pursued the dream of making an unrivalled luxury hostel residence<\/b>. His success participated also at the place renown. Yet, once again, the marvelous palate is abandoned in 2008.<\/p>\n

\"Maeterlink<\/p>\n

The last reborn<\/b> of this mythical residence is very recent. Radovan Vitek acquired the property in June 2012 and just shows up the renewed splendor of the Palais Maeterlinck<\/i><\/b> in May 2013, after construction work that is said that it cost as much as the domain\u2019 buying.<\/p>\n
